The Centre of Competence in Liturgy is part of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Bern. The center supports and coordinates research, teaching and coaching in the fields of Liturgics, Homiletics, Hymnology and Church Aesthetics.

Our central area of study is worship both in the present and in the past. We especially focus on the liturgy of the Reformed and Old Catholic traditions within their ecumenical, interreligious and intercultural contexts.

We are interested in worship as a multidimensional act, where the spoken word, ritual acts, music and the liturgical space interact with each other.
